PROJECT

The aim was to create a Cross-platform campaign to draw attention to  David Rowlands iconic chair the 40/4. Responsive design, competition app, offset production.

ACHIEVEMENT

Successful global campaign with entries across 4 continents  from 22 countries including European nations, USA, China, Russia and as far as Australia.

The brief

 

HOWE required new exposure for the iconic chair the 40/4 as it reached 50 years of production.

 

To celebrate the designer David Rowland and his iconic piece HOWE needed a strong visual profile that would encompass all elements of the campaign from start to finish.

 

I endeavored to create a simplistic yet sophisticated design  in all elements of the project echoing  the clean lines and functionality of the 40/4

 

 

Strategy

 

The global campaign was multifaceted requiring design for a physical invite in the form of a coffee-table book, a clear and informative landing-page, a competition app and a follow-up book to document the success of the campaign, the remarkable locations and diverse use of the 40/0 around the world.

 

HOWE it worked

The campaign invited selected clients from around the world to compete in finding the most diverse and interesting use of the 40/4 in their community.

 

Using the competition app they were to SHOOT a picture and SHARE it directly to the interactive map on the landingpage.

 

At the close of the competition the HOWE team would select the most exiting 40/4 geo-tagged picture on the map to WIN a memorable trip to Copenhagen.

SHOOT

 

Head out and find a 40/4. Find two. Find as many as you want. Using our dedicated iPhone app,

take that shot.

 

SHARE

 

Make it yours with a great description, tag it, and upload it to the online map. Within 24 hours your 40/4 will be online.

 

WIN

 

Get lucky, and you could win one of two all-expenses paid exclusive weekends in Copenhagen for you and a friend.

The app

The app was downloaded by contestants in order to be part of the competition. The app needed to be intuitive and easy to use by contestants on the go. The design required coherence and synergy with the other elements of the campaign whilst honoring the sophisticated standard of the iconic piece it was celebrating.

The invite

 

The graphic layout not only had to explain the competition but display the 40/4  and its impressive and expansive use around the world inspiring competing clients to be part of the 40/4´s history.
